Zayo Group has closed its previously announced transaction to purchase AGL Networks (AGLN), adding approximately 850 route miles of owned fiber footprint and 270 buildings to Zayo’s Network.

Zayo Group restated that the terms of its acquisition of American Fiber Systems Holding Corporation (AFS) are not disclosed, but that the $185-190 million consideration referenced by various media outlets is materially inaccurate and overstated.

The acquisition will both augment and expand Zayo’s fiber network presence in nine tier 1 and tier 2 metropolitan markets across the U.S.

Taking advantage of 17 Years of Experience, David Howson will join zColo as President to lead zColo’s growth initiatives, executing a plan that leverages Zayo Group’s technical facilities.

Zayo Bandwidth will provide FTT services in support of 3g and 4g wireless networks, as more and more mobile users consume video and other high bandwidth applications.
